Compiz Desktop Effect and SCIM
I tried to activate the virtual desktop but nothing happened. The “Ctrl+Alt+arrow” did not work. I finally figured out why. It was SCIM, which default hot key included “Ctrl+Alt+some arrows”. So, to activate virtual desktop:
Click “System->Preferences->SCIM Input Method Setup”.
